Winter Landscape

Just as plants have the capacity to bring scented flowers to life, just as black rock can crystalize into a glittering diamond, and just as an egg can grow to become a captivating peacock, you too can transcend into your Authentic Self.

When you are fully present in the now, when you are embodied, and grounded, you are at your truest self. Let the intelligence of your body, your mind and your heart inform you, awaken you, and guide your day. How can you actualize this? How can you become your Authentic Self? How can you connect with and experience your inner body? By being self-aware and attentive of your surroundings with the practices of journaling and meditation.

These practices remove the masks and self-protective shields you tend to cover yourselves with to be someone you are not. Be present now as you are! Pay attention to your physical sensations and true feelings in the stillness and silence of your practice. Do not get entangled with any images or thoughts that may come up. Notice them and let them go. These are the most essential skills you are learning on your spiritual journey.

Within you is a bud ready to sprout, a rock ready to turn into diamond, an egg with the magnificence of a peacock. Starting from where you are now to reach your full potential is a matter of planned self-discipline, daily practice, and a targeted determination to become who you want to be. So what are you waiting for?

Do you consciously think about your physical self? We don’t normally pay attention to our body until pain disrupts the flow of time. But keep in mind your body is your life. Without this sophisticated finely tuned miraculous machine, you do not exist.

Think about it, the first two months of our practice were only possible because you have our physical self. You could neither journal nor understand what attention and awareness are if you didn’t have a human body.

Good morning, Madhu! Thank you for this reminder to appreciate my physical body! I tend to only notice my physical self when I am injured or sick. Right now, I am battling a flu-like virus and my brain is foggy from taking decongestants and cough medicine! I appreciate how my body is fighting the germs! Miraculous, indeed!

Oh no, Jenn. Wishing you a quick recovery. I just finished listening to ‘When the Body Says No’ by Gabor Mate on the inter-workings of the mind, unconscious, stress, physical body and its impact on disease and illness. It’s all interwoven and inter-dependent.
