What does neuroplasticity mean?
Neuroplasticity means that our brain structure changes in response to whatever training we practice. It goes on all the time. Drugs temporarily alter our brain. We feel differently until they are in our system. But meditation alters each and every nook of our brain and our body and impacts our day-to-day life.
4 Pillars of neuroplasticity are Awareness, Connection, Insight and Resilience
1. Awareness
Metta (loving friendly) Awareness means knowing where your mind is and what it is doing, and bringing it back to the breath over and over again.
2. Connection
Healthy social relationships.
3. Insight
Introducing oneself to Self and having positive self-image. It ranges from positive self-image to not ever introducing oneself to Self to extremely negative self-image.
4 Resilience
Having the ability to recover from adversity.
In order to have a fulfilling life we must have a purpose. Having a sense of direction in life and aligning our day-to-day behavior with the purpose provides passion that keeps us motivated to practice creative work until the end of our lives. This in return makes us content, peaceful and joyous.

I love how our brains are “plastic” and have the ability to change. I once read that change at the level of our neurology is not always pleasant, meaning there can be discomfort as we nudge out of old habits and into new and that discomfort can’t be rushed through. I found that information helpful to me… knowing that the uncomfortable feelings will pass and lead me to newfound territory helps me accept the challenges. Thank you for sharing!

That information is very useful, Jenn. Any change for the betterment of our life, as you say, is discomforting. But if we know it will pass with time we tend to be more patient with the discomfort and tolerate it till the change becomes a habit. Thanks for sharing.
