The Final Post on Daily Journaling:
What you pour on the blank pages of your journal can be compared with autumn leaves. The mountain of dried leaves of your mental trash is all biodegradable. It decomposes into mulch. Into this mulch you’re ready to sow new seeds and watch them sprout as fresh green saplings.

It often happens, that upon rereading your journal after some time, you gain greater insight into the things that have happened. Personal events gather universal significance. You realize such exchanges and events, good or bad, are human. The edges of harsh events have softened. You’re pleasantly surprised at where one month’s or one year’s journaling has led you.

When you don’t journal for a while a restlessness gnaws at you. Your mind feels muddled and overwhelmed with mosaic of petty thoughts and feelings. And when you do journal, it helps you heal your minor hurts and not so minor wounds, your mind clears. The rest of your day unfurls peacefully.

As you may have experienced by now, when you purge a stumbling block or conundrum in your notebook, after writing two or more pages you begin to receive answers. You get some inclination about where you are and where you may go next. Possibilities open up.

Journaling daily for a decade, and then on and off for two more decades has made my little world ridiculously positive. However, there are still days when I’m surrounded by negative thoughts. But journaling keeps me from drowning in the whirlpool of mundane worries and anxieties.Keep writing daily (preferably in mornings) and make journaling an intrinsic part of your day. In time, you’ll notice the desire to write stirring from inside you like as internal alarm. When daily journaling turns into a habit it surprises you with some unexpected results.

I journal several days a week. It’s a good habit that I no longer have anxiety over. (Do you remember all those years ago my sheer panic over the thoughts of journaling and putting into writing my feelings?) Now it’s 2nd nature. Thank you for your gentle encouragement and teaching.
