Reflections
Inspiration
Rationalizing a sad situation does not make it better, but walking through an art museum, watching a movie, listening to music, or going to creative dance or theatre heals. Arts have power to make changes at a cellular level. They touch the same roots from which sadness grows. Fine arts and literature have the power to change you from the inside out. The more positive content you place in your mind, the more the pain is pushed away. What felt unsurmountable yesterday no longer feels so problematic.
Be aware of the world around you at the present moment. Attend to life. The experience of awe and wonder does not just happen. It requires action on your part. Like any mind training, you need to practice it. At the moment when something deeply touches you, think: Why did this feel so good? Analyze and remember. Next time you are at a similar space or in a similar situation, recreate what happened the last time you experienced unfathomable pleasure. Next time you get an opportunity to experience inner joy, remind yourself the steps and repeat.
The moments of awe and wonder are sensed in natural beauty, when you are in the “zone,” with the “flow,” when you and your creation are one. After such creative experience you have an afterglow, and the world around you glistens. This is so because art changes you where your Authentic Self dwells, in your cellular system, the reason it shows in your eyes and face. In time, that sensibility becomes the needle of your inner compass, and you carry your radiance everywhere you go.
Journal Prompt
Write all the reasons you are proud of yourself. When do you feel in the “zone”?’ Which two practices make you feel that they can help you with the inner transition at a cellular level?
Today’s Practice
Meditation: “Arriving Home”
Read, reflect, and journal.
Lorraine
Art has certainly changed me at the cellular level. With several family members struggling with illness this holiday season, art is an escape and anxiety reliever. Running and walking used to be my outlet, but at this time, I cannot do either while caregiving. Thankful that I have art.

Hi Lorraine,
I was at my Mindful Creators Group this morning thus the delay in responding. If you are practicing more than one creative outlets it works wonderfully well because you can practice at least one if not all. Yay for art!

Hello, Madhu! I am a day late in my practice, and I am so grateful to have your guidance. I LOVE the feeling of “flow” and I have to temper myself so that I am not chasing it… I’m learning to create the space daily for “flow” to happen in many areas of my life, not just writing. BUT I love to love the feeling of blissful flow… and so the impulse to chase is still there. Thank you!

Hi Jenn,
What a life it would be if each moment of our lives is mindful! Being awake in each moment is the goal, hard to achieve. Can’t chase is because when you are living in now and here you can’t go anywhere else!
