Reflections

Inspiration

Approach your life as if you were watching an autobiographical movie. Live in the present. Make each day count. Fear of one thing or another will show its head, but when you are present here-now you realize there is no immediate danger. Yes, there is so much not under your control. But there is so much that is. So learn to live courageously. One of the major benefits of mindful practices is that they disclose secrets of eternity, universality, and a higher self within you. The sense of “I Am. I’m more than my physical body” infuses fearlessness in you.

A creative and spiritual path allows you to experience “flow.” When in the middle of that flow, you feel your best and do your best. You chattering ego goes quiet. Clock time falls away. You have no self-doubt. And complete trust in the way things are. You feel selfless. Timeless. Effortless. Enriched.

The best news is you can recreate moments of flow. Surrender yourself to your Authentic Self in a creative act, to an activity for its own sake. Let go of trying to control things around you. Carve out such a time 4-5 times a week.

  • Notice how things around you affect you
  • See yourself as part of a larger whole
  • Walk in the woods, becoming one with the surroundings
  • Watch a movie
  • Read a book
  • Paint a picture
  • Surrender into a foreign environment in an unfamiliar culture

Anything around you can turn into a prop. Take yourself to places that are majestic, overpowering with their nobility, grandness, mystery, and awe. Imbibe their qualities.

I’m sitting outside wrapped in blankets. The glorious sun warms one side of my face while a breezy chill flows across the other. It’s delightful. I cherish these quiet and still moments. In this moment, ‘I Am’
